What is Volunteering?

Volunteering means freely choosing to commit time and energy, for the benefit of the community, environment and other people, without financial reward.

Anyone can volunteer and it’s a great way to get more involved in your local community and do something really worthwhile. Most charities would not exist without the help of volunteers. Volunteers play a key role in helping organisations to provide vital services to communities in need.

We have opportunities to suit most people’s requirements. If we’re not able to find you a suitable opportunity then we will try to create one for you.

How can we help?

It is important that you find the right voluntary role for you. This might be something that allows you to support a cause that is important to you, utilises your existing expertise and talents, or allows you to develop new skills and experience. Finding a role that will fit around other commitments may also be a priority.

By helping you to find the right volunteering opportunity, we help charities and other not-for-profit organisations to find committed, enthusiastic and happy volunteers.

We can offer you a one-to-one, confidential consultation where we will help you to find the right volunteering opportunity. You can talk to us by phone or email, or you can make an appointment to meet our Volunteer Coordinator at our office on Oxford Street.

Once you've found a role that you are interested in, we will continue to support you. If you need help to apply to an organisation or encounter any difficulties once you get there, you can contact us.
