Whitstable
Volunteer Centre runs a limited but vital gardening service for
elderly and disabled people who can no longer manage their gardens
and cannot afford pay for a gardener themselves.
The
Centre has also undertaken a number of community projects.
Due
to a lack of resources the Centre is not able to provide clients
with a regular volunteer gardener. The sorts of tasks carried
out by the volunteers include weeding, grass cutting and general
tidying.
The
gardeners are all volunteers and although there isn’t a
change for the service, all donations are gratefully accepted
to cover the administrative costs of the scheme. |
