Whitstable
Volunteer Centre is a registered charity and has been an integral
part of the community since it was founded in 1976. The main
function of the Centre is to recruit and place volunteers with
voluntary and not for profit organisations, as well as provide
information and advice on issues relating to volunteering.
In
addition the Centre provides a number of services to the local
community in Whitstable including a Volunteer Car Scheme for
elderly and disabled people, a gardening service for people
who are no longer able to manage their gardens, and a signposting
and information service at the Whitstable Health Centre.
Volunteers
play an invaluable role in helping Whitstable Volunteer Centre
provide a range of community services. Without them we
would not be able to support as many people as we do.
